year 3 (WARHOL CLASS)
Class Teacher: Miss Walshe
ETA: Mrs Fisher
Welcome to our page! Here you will find all the information about what is going on behind the scenes in Warhol Class. Our teacher is Miss Walshe and our classroom support teacher is Mrs Fisher. We are also lucky enough to have Mrs Rathmell teaching in our class on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoons.
Please send your child to school every day with their book bags containing reading books plus a water bottle. PE will be on Monday and Wednesdays and children will need both an indoor and an outdoor kit.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, face-to-face contact with parents is very limited but if you have any issues or concerns, please get in touch either via the school office or through Class Dojo - our virtual door is always open!
We are often asked whether there are any books which we can recommend for pupils. The website: https://schoolreadinglist.co.uk shows lots of good choices for individual year groups.
Children read daily in class and 1-1 with an adult at least once a week. Home reading books are sent home on Friday and are changed regularly. Staff will constantly monitor and assess that your child is reading books at an appropriate level.
Staff also read aloud to children every day (this might be Miss Walshe's favourite part of the day!)
Our current 'Author of the Month' is Oliver Jeffers.
Please find the Spelling lists for Years 2, 3 and 4. The spellings below are words which children should be using correctly in their written work by the end of the year. These will not be the spellings which are necessarily on the tests each week as these link to particular spelling patterns which are being taught in class.
Following on from their work during lockdown, White Rose have continued to produce home learning, which will support the teaching in school. You can find it here:
Please find our White Rose Maths overview for the term below, it will help you support your child in knowing what concepts we are learning throughout the year.
We are so happy to be back at school!
