Welcome to Mead Class, home of Year 2 and 3. This year, our class teacher is Miss Hopper and working with her are Mrs Allington, Miss Dixon and Miss Brooks. Miss Brooks teaches the class on a Tuesday and Thursday morning. Here you'll find all the information you need to help your child progress, supporting the learning that goes on in class and also giving you a window into what they are doing through the year.

English We are often asked whether there are any books which we can recommend for pupils. The website: https://schoolreadinglist.co.uk shows lots of good choices for individual year groups. Each half-term, we teach English through a text-led approach, using a quality story to spark children's imagination. We follow the 'The Write Stuff' by Jane Considine, and build up our knowledge throughout the half term before applying the skills we have learned in a piece of independent writing. Our text for this half term is 'Stone Age Boy' by Satoshi Kitamura. In our reading comprehension lessons, we will be using the VIPERS skills to answer questions linked to the book 'Cavegirl' by Abie Longstaff |
