Vision statement and intent:
The French curriculum at Skelmanthorpe Academy has been designed in accordance with the National Curriculum and is taught in dedicated lessons across Key Stage Two. As we believe strongly in the benefits of introducing modern foreign languages at an early age, classes in the Early Years and Key Stage One also engage in more informal language learning through songs. Our French curriculum engages and inspires pupils to develop a love of languages and provides a sound foundation for the continuation of language learning at Key Stage Three and beyond. In this way, we will ensure that we help to equip pupils with the essential skills to be adaptable, confident, resilient language learners within a global environment.
